The results are in! The overall winner of the PIE Center Photo Contest is Lisette Ortiz with her photograph entitled “Fine feathers make fine birds”. Her photo received the greatest number of votes reaching 112.
This photo was taken on a farm in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The photo features a girl holding a chicken, she helps take care of the animals with her family.
Lisette, a junior at the University of Florida, is majoring in advertising. Photography has been a longtime hobby, she said, and she frequently looks to enter contests to showcase her work. She said she is grateful for the opportunity she had to help this family and experience farm life in another country.
Congratulations to Lisette, our finalists and all the photographers who submitted photos to the contest. The photos submitted captured some amazing moments in agriculture and natural resources.
There were 42 photos submitted to this year’s contest by 15 people in three categories: agriculture, natural resources, and faces of agriculture and natural resources.
