  • PIE Center Director Tracy Irani will serve a one-year term as interim director of UF/IFAS Family, Youth and Community Sciences, effective Oct. 1. As a result, Alexa Lamm has assumed the role of associate director of the PIE Center.
  • The first meeting of the PIE Center’s 15-member Advisory Board is slated for Oct. 11. Board members will join PIE Center faculty and staff to discuss the results of the PIE Center’s annual evaluation and plan for the future.
  • In late July, PIE Center faculty and staff spent a morning at Lake Wauberg, the University of Florida’s outdoor recreation area, to participate in a variety of team-building events.
  • The PIE Center’s newest public opinion survey again made it to the front page of The Gainesville Sun. Lead researcher Quisto Settle is scheduled to present the results to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation later this month.
  • As a way to recognize the superhero efforts of PIE Center team members, faculty and staff distinguish colleagues by passing around a mask. The original recipient, Deidra Slough, awarded the mask to Nicole Dodds in the first Mask-on-the-Move transition.
  • Outreach and Training Coordinator Nicole Dodds and her husband welcomed a baby girl to their family on Oct. 1. She will be on parental leave through the end of the year.
