Completed degrees: BS in Animal Science from University of Kentucky (2009), MS in Animal Breeding and Genetics from Purdue University (2012)

Time with the PIE Center: 8 months

Projects you’ve worked on: 

  • Consumer Perceptions of Local Foods project: Utilized a survey to determine consumer attitudes, trust and information preferences for local foods versus the Fresh from Florida brand.
  • Extension Needs Assessment: Conducting a survey designed to determine the needs of Extension agents throughout Florida in regards to communication in an effort to direct the PIE center efforts to provide more support to Extension services.

Goals after graduation: Get a position that will allow me to continue working with consumers and producers in the agricultural industry

Hidden talents: Well, I ride horses, play the euphonium and play videogames

Favorite food: Fried potatoes & tomato salad

Best superpower: Telekinesis or teleportation… It’s a toss-up depending on my mood. Who could say that the ability to instantly appear somewhere wouldn’t be great, or the ability to move things and influence people with your mind?

Favorite animal: Horses, cows and dogs
