Favorite part of ag or natural resources: I love working with the people within the agricultural and natural resource industry and teaching others about what a unique and important field it is for everyone.
Expected degree/completion date: Ph.D. in Agricultural Communications in December 2014
Completed degrees: Bachelor of science from the University of Florida in Agricultural Education and Communication and a master of science from Oklahoma State University in Agricultural Communication
Time with the PIE Center: I have unofficially worked with the PIE Center for the last year and a half; however, I officially (on assistantship) started working with the PIE Center in January 2014
Projects you’ve worked on: I have worked on the school nutrition research, a little bit with the farm-to-school project, but most significantly with the second specialty crop block grant for local food and media channel effectiveness.
Goals after graduation: I have accepted a job as an assistant professor of agricultural communication with the University of Georgia. I will begin there in January 2015.
Hidden talent: In any and all of my spare time, I love training my dogs to compete in dog agility.
Favorite food: Steak.
Best superpower: Teleporting so I can get to meetings on time.
Favorite animal: My dogs. Fleet is a Border Collie and Haylie is a Shetland Sheepdog.
