Corey Darnell

Department of Agricultural Education and Communication, Undergraduate student 

Corey Darnell has the unique opportunity to work as a media assistant with the Center of Public Issues Education as an undergraduate student. Corey started working with the PIE Center in January 2018.

He is studying Agricultural Education and Communication and will be graduating in May of 2018.

As an undergraduate assistant with the PIE Center, Darnell has been creating informative videos that are published on the center’s media and social media.

He has been assisting on all recent video projects, which include interviews with various stakeholders, and typography based videos.

“I would have to say my favorite part about working for the PIE Center would be the faculty and staff here. Everyone is very friendly, easy to get along with and always making jokes about something,”Darnell said.

The PIE Center is equipping Darnell with the additional skills that will help him to continue to succeed as a student and as an agricultural communicator.

“The PIE center has impacted my academic career by helping me further my abilities with video editing and video editing software.”

Following graduation from the University of Florida, Darnell wants to work in the communications field of the agriculture industry, where he wants share all the positive sides of agriculture, and provide insight to consumers about the agriculture industry.

Outside of work and school, Darnell enjoys being a photographer and taking pictures of all things related agriculture.
