Consumers are becoming increasingly curious and interested in how their food is grown and processed. Issues such as food safety and use of new food technologies continue to be top concerns. Since consumers’ opinions regarding food issues is important to the sustainability of the agricultural industry, the PIE Center conducted research in 2013 and 2014 to explore the attitudes, perceptions and purchasing habits related to food safety, food security and genetically modified food.
