The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Center for Public Issues Education (PIE Center) collected public opinion data from a nationwide sample from April 24 to May 7 to find out the public’s opinions about current recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The speakers in this webinar will discuss factors associated with willingness and unwillingness to follow social distancing practices and give recommendations on ways to frame accurate and informative messages about COVID-19 mitigation strategies. This webinar will also cover the concept of compound disasters in light of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season and how preparing for this season differs from years past.
