Gordon Yoder

Department of Agricultural Education and Communication, Graduate student

Gordon Yoder of Blountstown, Florida began working with the PIE Center during his first semester of graduate school. He assisted with the PIE Center’s Best Management Practices project by developing a social media campaign to educate the public and create awareness for the issue.

Working at the PIE Center gave Yoder a hands-on opportunity to learn how to target a specific audience and analyze research.

“I enjoyed working for the PIE Center during my first semester as a graduate student. The PIE Center uses research to solve real-world problems, and I was able to join a well-rounded team of talented researchers, communicators and educators. This brought a confidence that the work I was doing would matter.”

During his time with the PIE Center, Yoder says he enjoyed learning how to develop a social media strategy based off of research findings. He appreciates that the PIE Center connects research with practical issues in the agricultural and natural resources industries.

In his future career, Yoder aspires to make complex, abstract ideas as simple and effective as possible.
