Since the first episode aired in January 2021, Science by the Slice has covered topics ranging from COVID-19 to Agritourism. Guest speakers from different professions have joined the conversation, offering unique perspectives on issues that impact our daily lives.

To kick off season 2 of Science by the Slice, Looking Back and Looking Forward reflects on highlights from season one and provides a sneak peek of what’s in store for 2022. Listeners will hear from PIE Center education coordinator Phillip Stokes as he discusses key takeaways from past episodes related to the topic of trust in science.

“One of the things the COVID-19 pandemic has done is put science and the work of scientists in the public spotlight,” said Stokes. “The public is engaging in science in a way that has potentially never happened before.”

Looking forward, hear a preview of the upcoming  two-part series on diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice airing in February and March of 2022. Later in the year, Science by the Slice listeners can look forward to episodes on topics such as nutrition, honeybees, water quality and mental health.
