Florida growers find many reasons to participate in Farm to School programs. In addition to the extra income, producers enjoy being able to provide fresh produce to children in the local community.
Cathy Reed, food service director for Leon County, is happy to support local farmers and the local economy by purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables through the Farm to School program. She believes the program will grow as it becomes more well known.
